A target is a protein or other molecule in a Foldit binder puzzle. In these puzzles, players try to design a binder protein that attaches to a specific point on the target.
The targets in Foldit puzzles are most often associated with diseases, such as coronavirus, and the Abeta polypeptide that's a feature in Alzheimer's disease. In these puzzles, the target is usually much larger than the binder.
On the other hand, the Cubane FeS binder puzzles targeted a small cube-shaped molecule made of iron (Fe) and sulfur (S).
