Serine / SER / S (EnzDes coloring)
Serine (SER or S) is a hydrophilic amino acid. Its shape in Foldit is identical to that of cysteine. The EnzDes and CPK coloring options (found in view options) can be used to tell serine and cysteine apart.
In the Foldit Lua interface, the functions structure.GetAminoAcid and structure.SetAminoAcid use lowercase "s" for serine.
Serine's sidechain can act as both a hydrogen bond donor and acceptor.
