retiredmichael's thioredoxin from puzzle 1066.

64: Thioredoxin is a revisiting puzzle, originally presented in 2009 as Puzzle 64: Thioredoxin.

Thioredoxins are anti-oxidant proteins that act as enzymes. Thioredoxin is involved in the reduction of insulin and other important biological processes.

The puzzle has 105 segments with the sequence:

 mvkqiesktafqealdaagdklvvvdfsatwcgpckmikpffhslsekysnviflevdvndcqdvasecevkcmptfqffkkgqkvgefsgankekleatinelv

This sequence is found in the Protein Data Bank as 1AIU. (The sequence is at offset 0 of chain A in 1AIU.)

There's also a close match at 5DQY. 5DQY and 1AIU differ by only one segment. At segment 60, 1AIU has asparagine, where 5DQY has aspartate.

5DQY also has two disulfide bridges, 32-35 and 62-69. The bridges are not identified in PDB 1AIU, although the same segments are present. 5DQY also lists a third bridge as 73-73, which seems to be an error.

This puzzle does not have any ligands.

This puzzle has a single chain.
