Hydrogen bonds are bonds which form when the hydrogen of an -OH group is attracted to a nearby group with an electron pair. Although they are much weaker than the covalent bonds holding the amino acids together, they have a stabilizing effect on the protein structure.

Foldit shows them as blue glowing spirals between sheets or other parts.
