Foldit Wiki

On the road paved with good intentions Browse is supposed to be the root category of the Foldit Wiki.

As happened with The game, Help, and Help foldit, the grand plan for categorization has been forgotten over time. Many individual pages are members of these "root" categories, more or less at random.

In British English, the original boilerplate on this page explained the envisioned structure:

This category (meaning Browse) is our top-level category, or looking at it another way, it is the root category.

Ideally, every other category should be a subcategory of at least one other, and every article should be in at least one category; many will fit well into two (e.g. location and subject-matter).

The "Content" category is intended for all articles about the subject matter of the wiki, whilst "Organisation" is intended for all administrative matters. A full list of existing categories can be found at Special:Categories.

To add a new category to a page, just add [[Category:Categoryname]] to the end of the article or existing category page.

(As noted elsewhere, categories can also be added by expanding the "Categories" section near the bottom of the page. An "Add Category" button allows adding a category without having to edit the page itself.)

The categorical imperative is coming to Foldit Wiki. Please avoid using The game, Help, Help foldit, and of course, Browse directly on a page. Pages in these problem categories may be moved to new categories at any moment, depending on the whim of the editor-in-chief.

The new system is to put all the Foldit content under the new category Foldit. Seems logical, or at least better than The game as a top-level category.

The new Foldit category is actually the third level, it's path being /Browse/Content/Foldit.
