A binder is a small protein, or short chain of amino acids, that's intended to bind to a different target. Binders are a feature of binder puzzles, a type of design puzzle in Foldit. Binder puzzles usually target a disease.
In some cases, the binder is a complete protein, large enough to form a distinct core. In other cases, the binder is a short chain of amino acids, often referred to as a peptide.
